  1. What is the equation for the regression line in Data Set B?

Note: We are assuming that you have already entered all the data and have not cleared your calculator. If this assumption is not correct, please go the answer to #12 and enter the data.

The equation of a line is y = a + bx where a and b have specified values.

To find the a value for the regression line that best fits our data, press:
[SHIFT] [7] [=] Your display should read 6.3773 which is the value of a.
To find the b value for the regression line that best fits our data, press:
[SHIFT] [8] [=] Your display should read 0.15570 which is the value of b.

Therefore, the equation for the regression line is y = 6.3773 + 0.15570x.
